Interview with Pat from The Maine!

1) how did your name come about?

We had a show in a few days and could not think of a band name.
We were really into a band that had a song called "The Coast Of Maine"
so we decided to go with The Maine and it kind of stuck.

2) when and how did you guys get together?

Me and Garrett our bass player had been in bands together for
years and we needed a singer so my brother Tim told John to try
singing and come jam with us. He came over to my house and recorded a
cover song and we started practicing together a few days later. We
started at the very end of 2006 and played our first show in January
of 2007

3) what is your favorite song to play live and why?

I like to play a song called "My Heroine" it has a good energy to
it and is always fun to play. We started playing the song live even
before we recorded it which we had never done before. To me it always
feels like a good live song.

4) what has inspired you mostly in the music industry?

I think having such supportive fans has been to most inspiring
thing for me. It keeps you going and keeps you realizing what is
important. Without them listening to or music and supporting what we
do we would not be a band. I always come back to that thought.

5) what would you say to a group of kids asking for advice when starting a band?

I would say make the music you want to make first off and then
work hard. Nothing is going to be handed to you and if you want to
continue to make music you are going to need to take things in your
own hands.

6) any news? Upcoming tour dates? Albums? Etc?

We just released a new DVD called "Anthem For A Dying Breed" that
follows the story of the struggles we had to release our album
"Pioneer" plus a live concert. We are currently getting ready to head
to the studio and record a new album so that is the main focus right
now!
